Prenatal Care
Prenatal care is the medical care that is provided to you during your pregnancy. Maintaining prenatal care is an important step in keeping both you and your baby healthy. Prenatal care is provided by both doctors and nurse practitioners in our practice.
When you come to see us for your prenatal checkup, your provider will perform routine checks on you as well as your growing baby. These routine checks usually consist of weighing you, checking your urine, and doing blood tests. Your provider can determine your baby’s due date and if there are any vaccinations that you might need. During these visits, you will have the exciting experience of seeing your baby for the first time via ultrasound.
Throughout your pregnancy, there might be other tests required to ensure that your baby is growing healthy and developing properly. If one of these tests are necessary or recommended, your provider will discuss the test with you. Prenatal checkups are the perfect time to ask your provider all your questions you have regarding your pregnancy and your baby.
